Call for volunteers: ccNSO Study Group on the IANA role in Disaster Recovery
The ccNSO Council is seeking volunteers to serve on the ccNSO Study Group on the IANA role in Disaster Recovery. The Study Group is expected to begin work around ICANN84.
Purpose of the
Study Group
The ccNSO Council has established a Study Group to provide the ccTLD community and the Council with a comprehensive overview of the issues related to IANA’s role, if any, in the disaster recovery of ccTLDs. The purpose of the Study Group
is to assess these issues and, if appropriate, recommend whether new policies, interpretations, or practices should be considered as next steps.

Who Can Volunteer?
Membership of the Study Group is open to representatives of all ccTLD managers (whether or not they are ccNSO members). At least one member must be a ccNSO Councillor, and all appointments are made
by the ccNSO Council. ccTLD regional organizations may nominate a liaison, and the Chair may invite other ICANN SOs/ACs, TLD-ops leadership, IANA staff, other ICANN staff, or external experts to participate. All members, liaisons, participants, and experts
take part on equal footing in deliberations, unless the Chair decides otherwise. Observers from the broader community may attend designated open meetings but do not actively participate.
