Registration for ICANN78 is Now Open

Registration is now open for the ICANN78 Annual General Meeting, which will be held both virtually and in-person from 21-26 October 2023 in Hamburg, Germany. ICANN78 will mark the organization's 25th Annual General Meeting. Click here to learn more about how to register.

NEW: ICANN To Highlight Strength of Multistakeholder Model at Internet Governance Forum

ICANN is participating in the 18th annual Internet Governance Forum (IGF). The event will be held 8–12 October 2023 in Kyoto, Japan, under the overarching theme "The Internet We Want – Empowering All People" and is open to both on-site and virtual attendees.

NEW: ICANN Successfully Completes Sixth DNS Symposium (IDS) in Da Nang, Vietnam

The primary objective of IDS 2023 was to delve into the challenges and opportunities linked to integrating the DNS with emerging technologies, including challenges related to its security. The symposium welcomed researchers, developers, and operators to share insights on a range of subjects including blockchains, Internet of things, and novel uses of the DNS, such as IP-to-location translation, blocklists, and so on.

NEW: NextGen@ICANN Mentor Program Nominations

The NextGen@ICANN Program seeks nominations for the 2024 Mentor Program. This appointment will serve for the ICANN79, ICANN80, and ICANN81 meetings.

Nominations must be submitted no later than Friday, 1 November 2023.

The community-nominated mentor will be responsible for overseeing the mentor process. Communities may choose to appoint program alumni and are encouraged to appoint active community members who have an interest in mentoring students.

Guidelines for the program can be found here. Interested community groups should select their respective volunteers and notify Deborah Escalera, deborah.escalera@icann.org. 

TODAY: ICANN Board Launches Strategic Planning Process for the Next Five Years

The Board Strategic Planning Committee (BSPC) leads the strategic planning process on behalf of the Board, and ICANN org works closely with the BSPC and the Board to support this work. The outcome of this process will be a new five-year strategic plan.

ICANN wants to hear from university students living and studying in the North American region who are interested in the future of the Internet and in participating in the ICANN79 Community Forum Meeting. ICANN79 is scheduled to be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico from 2–7 March 2024.
