Dear Rinalia,

Thank you very much for your letter and clear explanation of available options and processes with respect to the upcoming ccNSO organizational review. At our Council meeting in Copenhagen on 15 March 2017, we concluded to ask you to defer the start of the ccNSO Organizational Review by twelve months. We are aware that additional procedural steps will be involved, including a public comment period and board approval. Please let us know if you expect us to take any additional steps.

We are reviewing and updating our internal documents to ensure that they capture our current practice, recommendations from the previous review and requirements set in the new Bylaws.

Kindest regards,

]{atrina Sataki

Chair of the ccNSO Council

Subject: ccNSO Review

Dear Katrina,

As you know, the Organizational Effectiveness Committee (OEC) oversees ICANN’s Organizational Reviews. Given the large number of reviews being conducted and scheduled to start this year, we have heard concerns about the community’s workload.

The ICANN Bylaws allows the Board to adjust the timing of Organizational Reviews, ‘based on feasibility’ (see Article 4, Section 4.4). Therefore, one option you may consider is to delay the start of the ccNSO review by 12 months. Other groups with upcoming reviews are being presented with the same option.

If you find such a rescheduling helpful, you are encouraged to use the next twelve months or so to undertake a self-review regarding the implementation status of the outcome of the previous review. The OEC believes such an exercise would be an effective way to set the context and prepare for the upcoming review.

If you wish to defer the start date of the review, please note that additional procedural steps will be involved, including a public comment period and board approval.

If you wish to proceed based on the existing schedule (i.e., no change to start date), the ICANN organization will support your review as scheduled.

I look forward to your reply at your earliest convenience.

Kind regards,

Rinalia Abdul Rahim

Chair of the Organizational Effectiveness Committee of the ICANN Board
