Dear ccNSO members,

 

As some of you will have noticed, the results of the members vote on the candidates to the ICANN Board of Directors are circulating. I am writing this email to ensure that everybody is aware of the results of the members vote and further steps. 

 

First, as the elections for the nomination of ICANN Board seat 12 closed only on Thursday, 30 November 2017 (23:59 UTC), I asked the Nomination Manager to inform me about the results prior to the agreed date Monday 4 December 2017.

 

Out of 162 members of the ccNSO, 94 ( = 58 %) casted their votes: 

Pierre Ouedraogo received 29 votes, 

Nigel Roberts received 60 votes, and 

5 members voted without selecting any of the candidates.

 

The next steps are: 

- The ccNSO Council will receive a full report from the Nomination manager, which will be discussed at the upcoming Council meeting on 7 December. 

- The ccNSO Council formally needs to nominate the candidate (Section 10.3 (i) of the ICANN Bylaws). 

- The Nomination becomes effective after the ccNSO Council decision becomes effective according to Rules of the ccNSO.
