This is a heads up about an upcoming call for volunteers. The ccNSO Council
will soon launch a call for volunteers for one (1) delegate to the 2023 NomCom. The call for volunteers will open 26 August (noon UTC), and will close 2 September 2022 (23:59 UTC).
Once the call for volunteers closes, the list of candidates will be presented to all ccNSO Councillors eligible to vote. Further details on the selection procedure
used by Council can be found here. The 2023 NomCom
will convene for the first time during ICANN75. Participation is mandatory for all delegates, including the new ccNSO appointed delegate.
Background
Following a call for volunteers in April 2022, Chris Disspain was appointed to serve on the 2023 ICANN Nominating Committee (NomCom) on behalf of the ccNSO. Chris
was appointed in April 2022, and recently stepped down.
Specific criteria and requirements regarding the Nominating Committee ("NomCom") composition and NomCom delegates are outlined in the ICANN Bylaws in Article
8. and are incorporated in the job description.
The NomCom also has a procedure document for reference that provides additional information about the work of the NomCom.
