1. The GNSO Council has passed the resolution to extend the charter of the Joint ccNSO-GNSO Internatonalised Domain Names Working Group (JIG) through 2012 to complete work on "IDN Variant TLDs" and "Universal Acceptance of IDN TLDs".


2. Pertaining to the Board Resolution on "Consumer Choice, Competition and Innovation" in Cartagena, the GNSO Council has done preliminary work to develop metrics and there is a desire to form a joint working group with any Supporting Organisations and Advisory Committees (SO/ACs) interested to fulfill the Board request. There are 2 models being considered, namely (i) joint WG that includes ALAC, GAC, GNSO and ccNSO or (ii) a GNSO WG open to participation. A motion will be tabled at the next GNSO Council meeting in September.

3. Mr Jeff Neuman (one of 2 GNSO Vice Chairs) is currently hospitalised and quite ill. Do send him your well wishes and wish him a speedy recovery.
