Draft Resolution
Following a call for volunteers, the ccNSO Council selects and appoints Eyitayo Iyortim (.ng) as ccNSO Delegate to the 2025 NomCom. The Council congratulates Eyitayo with her appointment and expresses its gratitude to all that volunteered for the role. The Council requests the secretariat to inform the Delegate, the candidates that were not selected, and relevant ICANN staff as soon as possible. The secretariat is also requested to publish these resolutions as soon as possible. This resolution becomes effective upon publication.
Background
- On 12 August, the ccNSO secretariat sent a call for volunteers to the ccNSO member mailing list.
https://ccnso.icann.org/en/announcements/announcement-13aug24-en.htm
- The call for volunteers closed on 27 August 2024, 23:59 UTC. The ccNSO Secretariat then launched the Council selection process. As requested by the NomCom support staff, the ccNSO should nominate one (1) representative.
- By the close of the application window, 5 candidates had applied for the role.
- On 29 August, as requested by the Council, the Secretariat asked all candidates to complete a short survey with questions to learn more about the level of expertise and experience in selecting candidates.
- On Friday 30 August, one of the candidates withdrew.
- The additional survey responses and all application materials submitted by the candidates were forwarded to the ccNSO Councillors. The Councillors selected and listed the candidates in order of preference by the deadline of 4 September 2024 (23:59 UTC).

Dear Chris, dear All,
All candidates were asked to fill out a short survey. See the enclosed screenshot.
Please consult their responses here, once they come in:

Email sent to the candidates:
The ccNSO Council started the selection process to identify the ccNSO delegate to the 2025 NomCom. In addition to the materials you previously provided, Council would like to invite you to answer a short survey. See (link sent to candidates)
Answering this survey is voluntary. That being said, your input will be greatly appreciated. Could you please answer the survey by the end of the week? Apologies for the short deadline.
For at least one of the candidates, I received an out of office reply. Also, please note that this additional survey was not explicitly part of the original call for volunteers.
Best regards,

Hello All,
I wonder if it would be possible to ask each of the candidates for the NomCom role to provide a note to us setting out their experience of interviewing and assessing candidates for roles/jobs. That is the key job of a member of the NomCom and frankly, whilst other experience is of course relevant and important, if one has not got experience in understanding job descriptions and interviewing candidates one is possibly ill equipped to undertake the role.
Cheers,
CD
