Election Notice: ccNSO Council, Asia/Australia/Pacific Region
This is to inform you about the elections for the position of one (1) ccNSO Council member for the Asia/Australia/Pacific region. Two candidates have been nominated, seconded, and accepted their
nominations in line with the established rules and timeline. Consequently, an election will be held among the Emissaries of the Asia/Australia/Pacific Region: Your vote is crucial to ensure your region's representation—don't miss this opportunity!
CANDIDATES
The candidates were invited to submit their statements to ccNSO members. They
also engaged with ccNSO members and the broader ccTLD community during a Q&A session held at the ccNSO Members Meeting during ICANN81. You can watch the recording of the session here.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Each eligible Emissary from the Asia/Australia/Pacific region will receive one ballot.
If you're unsure who the Emissary is for your Country or Territory, contact joke.braeken@icann.org
Ballots
have been sent via email from tally@icann.org on 26 November. Here
is an example.
Email reminders will be sent to those who have not yet voted.
You may vote multiple times, but only the last vote submitted will be counted.
Please select one preferred candidate by choosing only one option. If you believe none of the candidates are suitable, you may submit your vote without selecting any option.
According to the guideline, a quorum is reached when the majority of eligible Emissaries in the Geographic Region vote. The ccNSO currently counts 57 members from the Asia/Australia/Pacific region,
corresponding to 56 Territories, and therefor 56 Emissaries.
Voting results will be anonymized, and votes will be identified only by their ballot ID.
The candidate who receives the majority of votes cast by Emissaries from the region will be selected. The winner is the candidate with the most votes. If there is a tie, a run-off election will
be held between the tied candidates.
The Election Report, which includes the results of the election and possible observations by the Election Process Manager, will be sent to the ccNSO Council for adoption. Council's adoption of the Report will formally close the process. New Council terms will
commence at the end of ICANN82 in March 2025.
