ALAC Update

ALAC Review: You may be aware that the five regions of the At-Large community is undergoing a Review. A review team is engaged in the process of collecting data about the work of At-Large, mainly through conversations with key members of the Community during online meetings as well as their attendance at regional meetings.

Policy-wise - we are engaged in preparing ALAC statements in response to current public comment requests. We too have a team drafting statements on the IANA Naming Function Agreement, and the gTLD Marketplace Health Index as well as other public comment topics. At-Large members are serving on all the Workstream 2 working groups, and a webinar has been held to inform the community about their work and purposes, and to encourage them to participate.

Operationally, in advance of the ALAC Board member Selection Process, we are preparing our new committees to undertake this process - the Board Candidate Evaluation Committee (BCEC) and the Board Member Selection Process Committee (BMSPC).  Julie Hammer and Tijani Ben Jamaa will be the respective Chairs of these committees.

We are also, just as the ccNSO, pretty much involved in ICANN57 Planning. The ALAC looks forward to a meeting with the ccNSO in Hyderabad for some sharing time about hot topic issues of common interest.  I believe Gisella has been in touch.
