Dear Chris, dear All,

All candidates were asked to fill out a short survey. See the enclosed screenshot.

Please consult their responses here, once they come in:

Email sent to the candidates:

The ccNSO Council started the selection process to identify the ccNSO delegate to the 2025 NomCom. In addition to the materials you previously provided, Council would like to invite you to answer a short survey. See (link sent to candidates)

Answering this survey is voluntary. That being said, your input will be greatly appreciated. Could you please answer the survey by the end of the week? Apologies for the short deadline.

For at least one of the candidates, I received an out of office reply. Also, please note that this additional survey was not explicitly part of the original call for volunteers.

Best regards,

Hello All,

I wonder if it would be possible to ask each of the candidates for the NomCom role to provide a note to us setting out their experience of interviewing and assessing candidates for roles/jobs. That is the key job of a member of the NomCom and frankly, whilst other experience is of course relevant and important, if one has not got experience in understanding job descriptions and interviewing candidates one is possibly ill equipped to undertake the role.

Cheers,

CD

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Please review the application materials as submitted by the candidates and determine how well they meet the candidate requirements as included in the call for volunteers. See “required knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA’s)” as included here: https://ccnso.icann.org/en/announcements/announcement-13aug24-en.htm [ccnso.icann.org]

ccNSO candidates are expected to have the support of a ccTLD manager (whether members or non-member of the ccNSO).

  1. Please rank the applicants in order of preference. To do so, please respond to the survey. The link will be sent separately to each of you. Deadline: Wednesday, 4 September 2024 (23:59 UTC).

Rank the applicants in order of preference with number one being your most preferred candidate. If you believe a candidate does not qualify for the role, select the relevant checkbox at the end of each row. By selecting the checkbox, that row will be greyed out and will not be included in your ranking order.

Important: Please review the materials as submitted by the applicants, and make your decision based on how well the applicants meet the selection criteria as included in the call for volunteers.

Thank you and kind regards,

Selection Process and next steps

This selection process is governed by the applicable ccNSO guideline. See section 8.4, including 8.4.1. (conflict of interest) and 8.4.2 (selection by councillors)

On 5 September, after closure of the deadline to respond to the survey, based on each of the individual Councillor’s rankings, the Secretariat will prepare the overall ranking of all candidates and report the ranking to the ccNSO Council. The Secretariat will also include a resolution for online decision, to formally appoint the delegate. The ccNSO Secretariat will inform relevant ICANN staff about the outcome of the selection for the ccNSO appointed delegate, and will thank all that stepped forward.
