Hello Vanda, All,
Thank you so much for your welcome, Vanda.
Unfortunately, I write to tell you that I have to step down from the Nominating Committee. The reason is ICANN By Law Section 8.8.
“Ineligibility for selection by the Nominating Committee
No person who serves on the Nominating Committee in any capacity shall be eligible for nomination by any means to any position on the Board or any other ICANN body having one or more membership positions that the Nominating Committee is responsible for filling, until the conclusion of an ICANN annual meeting that coincides with, or is after, the conclusion of that MM person's service on the Nominating Committee.”
As I sit on the ccnso council and intend to stand again for a new term starting in March 2023 it would be a breach of the bylaws for me to be on the Nominating Committee.
The ccNSO is aware of the situation and is launching a process to find my replacement with the goal of getting that done in time KL.
My apologies to you and all Nominating Committee members for the inconvenience and I wish you well in your deliberations this year.
Cheers
Chris
