I
like this statement: “Also,
the big members of the community do not gloat over their advancement, but are
willing to prod the smaller registries to tow the path of
progress.”
I
think this statement sums up nicely what I myself also should have said after
ICANN Marrakesh in 2006 (my first meeting), and the ccNSO council & members
should take pleasure in knowing that first time attendants are made to feel at
relative ease.

MY COMMENDATIONS
Hello Gabi,
Actually, I should have said it
during the members meeting. Perhaps, you could forward it to the Chair or
the Council if you consider it necessary.
I am a relative newcomer to all
of this. It is the first time I am attending an ICANN meeting, for
instance. I must say I am overwhelmed by all of the effort at
collaboration.
Since my arrival in Kenya, I have attended the Initial
Registry operations Course organised by the AfTLD. it was free! And
I have observed the various sessions and deliberations, particularly, the ccNSO
scheduled activities. Yes, the Techday was particularly over my head.
Understandably, I do not have a technical background. But, in all, I
think I am more enlightened than when I arrived Kenya. I have a whole lot
to take back to the .ng ccTLD. I'm impressed by the fact that the ccNSO
and ICANN act more like parents to the ccTLDs than as umpires. Also, the
big members of the community do not gloat over their advancement, but are
willing to prod the smaller registries to tow the path of
progress.
Perhaps, if the rest of the global community was patterned
after this colllaborative stance, there would be far less friction than we are
experiencing, currently.
Well done; and more grease!
Best
Regards,
Ugo.
