The ccNSO Secretariat has received the following request from NomCom staff support:
“The 2021 Nominating Committee (NomCom) is planning to open this year’s NomCom application cycle mid-January 2021 and welcomes any updates to the ccNSO skill
sets/criteria and job descriptions that the ccNSO may have. During this cycle, the NomCom will appoint one individual to the ccNSO
Council.
Question for you: Would it be possible to confirm if the ccNSO has a job description
for the open ccNSO position?
[NomCom] is working with Jean-Baptiste and Jennifer from the ICANN Review Support and Accountability team (also copied on this email). One of the recommendations from the NomCom
RIWG Implementation Plan is Recommendation 15: The NomCom should publish detailed job descriptions for Board,
SO/AC, and PTI Board positions. The job descriptions, in combination with specific needed competencies identified each year by the NomCom, should form a basis for recruiting and evaluation efforts.
Typically, every year the NomCom will request ccNSO to provide updates or changes to the selection criteria (as reference, here is guidance we have received last year from the ccNSO.
In addition, the NomCom website includes eligibility factors and time commitments (as reference, here is last year’s information on the NomCom website Time
Commitment and Working Practice). However, it might be good opportunity for the ccNSO to provide a job description instead since the job description would
also include the skillset/criteria as well. “
Last year, the ccNSO provided the NomCom a specific requirements document found
here.
Based on their request, please let me know if this document is adequate and still relevant, or if it requires revisions.
