Dear Colleagues,

At the last meeting of the FinWG we made considerable progress on the issue.  Following suggestions from our previous meeting, we reviewed the merits of having ‘contributions ranges’ at specific levels of domains under management. We then turned to a detailed review of the proposed contribution guideline itself.  A number of useful suggestions were made and we are following up with edits.  We also reviewed a draft of a larger report that the FinWG would make to the ccNSO Council.  While some useful comments have been sent in, it is hoped that more will be received.   The group is working towards bringing closure to the issue in Buenos Aires in November.  Given the tight timeline, it is thought that we need to reach out to the broader ccNSO community to give them a chance to better understand what is being proposed and to offer their own suggestions with the idea of a webinar later this month having been raised as a way to address this.  We also began to discuss the mechanics of communicating the results of the whole process to ICANN at the end.  This will likely take the form of an exchange of letters between the ICANN CEO and the chair of the ccNSO.

Best regards,

Byron
