Subject: INVITATION: Guideline Review Committee Subgroup on Implementation

Dear all,

As you will recall the ICANN Board has recently (September 2022) adopted the ccNSO policy on retirement of ccTLDs.

The ccNSO is currently working on two other policy initiatives: review mechanism and selection of IDN ccTLD strings. At one point, these proposed policies will need to be implemented before they become operational. Although the development of ccNSO policies is first and foremost a matter of the ccNSO,  the implementation of these policies is undertaken by ICANN org. However, it is anticipated that during the implementation process of these policies the ccNSO may be asked to provide clarification and/or provide other input.

To provide a structured approach the ccNSO Guideline Review Committee was asked by Council to develop guidance on how the ccNSO could assist and advise on implementation of policies developed through the ccNSO Policy development process.

The GRC decided on the 21 November 2022 to use the sub-group structure to develop a ccNSO Implementation guideline.

So, if you are interested, please let me know and/ or attend the first meeting the small group will start its work is Monday 5 December 2022, 15.00 UTC.
