Dear all

May I join Jiankang and Jennifer in supporting this approach, thank you for sketching it out Alejandra.

My only small caution is that we have just adopted a new set of work with DNS Abuse, and that along with the PDPs are our top priorities. I think we should as a Council be very careful about the scope of work that we end up agreeing to after the engagement – if, and it is if, our members do want some work in the ccNSO on this topic.

Cheers

Jordan

Subject: [ccnso-council] Role of the ccNSO with respect to Universal Acceptance

Dear All,

As you know the MPC is organizing a session on the role of the ccNSO with respect to Universal Acceptance. This session is a follow-up from the discussions we had as a Council in 2021, resulting in a request to organize the session at the KL meeting.

IDN ccTLDs play a leading role in making the discussions and developments around Universal Acceptance, both individually and at regional level. The goal of this session is to seek feed-back from ccTLDs and broader community if they foresee a role for the ccNSO as a global platform with respect to Universal Acceptance. The intention is to follow the same pattern that was used to develop the role of the ccNSO with respect to DNS Abuse:

  1. Ask community what they see as role, if any and level of support of the suggestions (ICANN75)
  2. Impact/effort analyses of suggestions and provide feed-back to the community for the role of the ccNSO (intersessional webinar)
  3. Roadmap/workplan ccNSO & UA (to be presented at ICANN76)

To ensure we as Council deliver, I suggest that we create a small team of Councillors with the task to develop the roadmap and (help) organize the next sessions to update the community and seek additional feed-back and input. Do you agree?

Please also let me know if you are interested in joining this small group

Best regards,
Alejandra
