Dear Council members,
The call for one (1) ccNSO volunteer to serve on the Root Zone Evolution Review Committee (RZERC) has closed.
Four candidates have applied. Councillors eligible to vote must now select the ccNSO appointee, by ranking the candidates.
Reminder: The selected appointee must have substantial expertise and a deep, demonstrable technical understanding of the DNS and its underlying architecture.
To rank the candidates, eligible Council members will receive a personalized survey link separately. The deadline to respond to the survey is Monday, 15 December 2025 at 23:59

“I believe that 19 years working for CZ.NIC gave me enough experience required for this position. I was part of the team building open source registry
FRED and also DNS anycast we use to operate .CZ TLD. I was also responsible to coordinate first algorithm rollover in TLD space in 2010 and first rollover to ECDSA algorithm in TLD space in 2018. This ECDSA rollover was only possible after a year long enforcem
of RZM update that enabled using ECDSA in root zone. I'd be honored to have opportunity to represent ccTLD community in RZERC.”

Selection Process and next steps
This selection process is governed by the applicable ccNSO guideline. See section 8.4, including 8.4.1. (conflict of interest) and 8.4.2 (selection by councillors)
On 16 December, after closure of the deadline to respond to the survey, based on each of the individual Councillor’s rankings,
the Secretariat will prepare the overall ranking
of all candidates and report the ranking
to the ccNSO Council. The Secretariat will also include a resolution for decision at the 18 December Council meeting, to formally appoint the delegate. The ccNSO Secretariat will
inform relevant ICANN staff about the outcome of the selection for the ccNSO appointed delegate, and will thank all that stepped forward.
