Dear All,
Another request. This time we can appoint two (2) people to take part in ICANN Academy Leadership Programme before the meeting in Puerto Rico. This programme does not cover flight tickers, only accomodation between 6 March and 8 March, as well as stipend.
Alejandra and I participated in leadership training in 2015 before ICANN Dublin meeting. I must say it was a very interesting and useful experience. Among many other things, I fully realised what a great, efficient and reasonable community we (the ccNSO) are!
Again, we have not much time. We need to appoint two people by 22 December. As you can see, the program is designed for current and incoming leaders. However, from my own experience I can say that those people need to have good knowledge about the ccNSO as participants are (at least were) requested to present their respective communities and answer many questions.
Any suggestions? Anyone would like to volunteer? It is worth it!
We do not have a formal process for selecting participants to this program. In the past there was a selection Committee that selected participants (see attached Itam 9 Report selection leaders training.pdf). I propose we do the same this time. Byron, Demi and I could review suggestions and make the selection. Byron, Demi – are you available this and next week?
Thank you!
Kind regards,
]{atrina

Subject: Invitation - RSVP - ICANN Leadership Program (LP) 2018
Dear Katrina:
The ICANN Academy Leadership Program (LP) during the ICANN58 Meeting in Copenhagen was another success and the next LP is scheduled to take place 7-9 March 2018, prior to the ICANN61 meeting in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
For this program, TWO seats are reserved for representatives from your stakeholder group. The program is designed for current and incoming leaders, helping to increase understanding of the complexity of ICANN and to develop facilitation skills. We are aware that understanding ICANN as an organization, the topics discussed within ICANN, and interaction within other stakeholder groups is challenging for incoming leaders, but sometimes also for experienced leaders. ICANN and the community are making considerable efforts in order to help incoming leaders have a good start to their terms and to provide current leaders the opportunity to strengthen their leadership and facilitation skills. Opportunities for Leadership Program participants include the following:
A preliminary program is attached to this email.
Accommodation for participants will be covered between Tuesday, 6 March and Thursday, 8 March 2018, and participants will receive a stipend. Please note that flights will NOT be covered under this program, as incoming and current leaders are normally covered by the regular ICANN travel support. Please ensure that the leaders you select are being covered by ICANN Travel Support for their flights to Puerto Rico for ICANN61.
We would like to ask you to identify 2 incoming or current leaders from your stakeholder group who are interested and available to participate in this program. We recommend that you also identify an alternate candidate. Kindly forward us the names and email addresses of the endorsed individuals no later than 22 December 2017, and ask them to register here by Friday, 5 January 2018 at 23:59 UTC.
We hope this program will meet the needs of your community. All participants will be encouraged to partake in an open exchange of their views, as this will help facilitate cross-constituency collaboration during their terms.
We are very happy to answer any questions you may have on this exciting LP and look forward to having your group’s participants confirmed.
Kind regards,
Sandra Hoferichter, Chair of the ICANN Academy WG
