Dear Colleagues,
Here is some more detailed information about the Q&A session with ICANN Org Senior Executives. As I mentioned during the recent Council call, one of the questions we could ask is:
“The Strategic and Operational plans suggest that each Department within ICANN Org have their own strategy and plans, as well as their own approach to deal with risks and opportunities. How do ICANN Executives ensure that Departments collaborate to execute the common strategy, and avoid overlap? Further, how do ICANN’s Senior Executives ensure that the global risks and opportunities to ICANN are taken into account by each Department? “
Please feel free to edit this question/suggest other questions by 28 February!
Thank you!
Kind regards,
]{atrina

Subject: [So-ac-sg-cleaders] Request concerning ICANN Organization Senior Executives’ Q&A with the Community at ICANN64 and Other Updates
Dear Community Leaders:
- Request concerning ICANN Organization Senior Executives’ Q&A with the Community at ICANN64
For ICANN64 in Kobe, you will see from the latest block schedule circulated by Tanzanica that a 1-hour community session with ICANN org’s senior executives has been scheduled for Thursday 14 March, from 14.45-15.45 local time. This session will take place immediately after the ICANN Board session on Governance (from 13.30-14.45) and is intended to be an interactive discussion during which ICANN org’s senior executives will respond to community concerns and questions.
On behalf of ICANN org’s executive team, I would like to invite you and your respective community groups to each submit 1-2 questions or topics that you would like to see addressed either by a specific executive or by the whole executive team. To facilitate your planning, you may wish to review the latest ICANN org executive team report to the Board from January 2019: https://www.icann.org/uploads/board_report/attachment/85/ICANN_Org_Executive_Team_Reports_-_Los_Angeles_PUBLIC_FINAL.pdf. We will be grateful if you can submit your questions or topics by Monday 4 March 2019 to my colleague Maria Otanes (maria.otanes@icann.org).
- Other Updates
I understand that, in the run-up to ICANN64, you will each have received a number of requests from various parts of ICANN org as well as the ICANN Board. At previous SOAC Community Leadership meetings, we have also discussed the responsibilities and challenges that you face in managing the flow of requests and information. I am therefore pleased to let you know that we hope to launch the first issue of the ICANN Community Leadership Digest in time for the Kobe meeting. This will take the form of a regular email digest that will contain all requests, public comment opportunities and other updates from ICANN org. We hope that this will greatly facilitate your ability to manage the information flow and communications with ICANN org and the Board.
In the meantime, please allow me to remind you of the various deadlines and pending requests for the upcoming Kobe meeting:
- Questions for the Board for ICANN64: due 18 February (see https://mm.icann.org/mailman/private/so-ac-sg-cleaders/2019-February/000411.html)
- Community representatives for the ICANN64 Newcomers Sessions: due 22 February (see https://mm.icann.org/mailman/private/so-ac-sg-cleaders/2019-February/000412.html)
- Request from the Second Security, Stability & Resiliency Review Team (SSR2): https://mm.icann.org/mailman/private/so-ac-sg-cleaders/2019-February/000414.html
- Request from the Technical Study Group (TSG): https://mm.icann.org/mailman/private/so-ac-sg-cleaders/2019-February/000415.html
Last but not least, I hope that your community groups will find the new ICANN Pre-Meeting Prep Week helpful in preparing for ICANN64. You can find the list of ICANN org departments who will be participating in Prep Week by conducting pre-meeting webinars as well as a sign-up form here:https://www.icann.org/news/announcement-2019-02-14-en.
Best regards,
David
