Final comments or tweaks are welcome by 23 December. This webinar will be recorded.

Rules were adopted in 2004. We had governance sessions starting at ICANN69, and subsequent meetings. Today’s session is not a formal vote. Note that the formal process will be followed, polling used today is just a “temperature of the room”.

Non ccNSO members are asked not to participate in the polling. One response per ccNSO member please.

Slides, recording and background material can be found on the wiki:  https://community.icann.org/x/ionOCg

Background by Irina

No such section in the current version of the rules. During previous consultations, there was agreement that it would be good to have such a section.

ccNSO always votes electronically.

Who can initiate a vote?

We suggest lowering the barrier to 10 members from at least 2 geographic regions. Previously this was 3 regions.

Irina: Quorum rules.

Irina: What if quorum is not met in the first round? This is probably the trickiest part. We had 3 options at ICANN72. We decided to remove the second one.  Irina explains both options.

Poll: Which option do you prefer?

Option 1: 29%

Option 3: 65%

None of the above: 6%

No opinion: 0%

David invites all attending today, to encourage other ccTLDs to have a look at the email David will send to the members mailing list, and/or to listen the recordings of today’s webinar.

The finalized draft will be sent in January to Council by the drafting team. In the end, Councill will need to initiate a vote among ccNSO members.
