Dear ccNSO Council:

This is an update about the work of the IRP Community Representatives Group=
 (for selection of the IRP Standing Panel) to which you have appointed me as=
 a member.

The ICRG held its first meeting on March 14th at which time we focused on a=
dministrative matters such as introductions of group members and staff suppo=
rt. You can see the seven Community Representatives Group members here, incl=
uding two from GAC, two from ALAC, two from GNSO, and one (me) from ccNSO. I=
 have been selected as Chair of the ICRG. This page also shows ICANN staff s=
upport.

Since then, we have met four additional times =E2=80=93 meeting records are here.=
 Note =E2=80=93 we will be transparent about process matters but we will maintain =
confidentiality with respect to discussions about candidates to the Standing=
 Panel, not unlike NomCom confidentiality.  Thus, not all discussions will b=
e recorded.=20

ICANN support staff had sought expressions of interest from suitable consul=
tants to support the work of the ICRG and presented to the ICRG the two appl=
icants staff felt were best qualified. The ICRG considered both applicants =E2=
=80=93 both of  which are global in nature and appeared well qualified. The ICRG=
 consensus choice was for the engagement of Odgers Berndtson (Belgium), a fi=
rm that has previously been engaged in ICANN NomCom consultancy support. Tha=
t engagement has now been finalized. We  met with the team from Odgers at ou=
r meeting this past Monday, May 9th. =20

We expect the next meeting to be Monday, May 16th or Monday, May 23rd =E2=80=93 w=
e are currently polling on that. My expectation is that Odgers will suggest =
a working methodology and the ICRG would then consider those suggestions  at=
 the following meeting. =20
