Dear ccNSO Members,
This is a reminder about the ongoing call for nominations to fill five vancancies on the ccNSO Council, as well as a status update.
The nomination and secondment procedure started Tuesday, 12 September 2023 (00:01 UTC) and closes on Tuesday, 3 October 2023 (23:59 UTC).
To date, at least one candidate per region has been nominated, but not all nominations have a seconding yet. Consult the overview below, and the archive here:

WHO CAN NOMINATE/SECOND? |
According to the latest ccNSO Council Election Guideline, only the ccNSO Representative of a ccTLD Manager is eligible to nominate/second candidates for the ccNSO Council. Contact joke.braeken@icann.org,
in case you have questions regarding who is listed as the Representative for your ccTLD.
For the current round of Council nominations, the Council leadership has recommended the following: In the case of an incoming nomination or seconding from a non-representative, the Election Manager will send
a copy of the nomination or seconding to the attention of the ccTLD representative, requesting explicit confirmation of the validity of the nomination or seconding.
NEXT STEPS | The Election Manager will ask the candidates whether they accept their nominations. The deadline for confirming nominations is Wednesday, 11 October 2023 (23:59 UTC).
Candidates are required to provide a written candidate statement. A Question and Answer session with the candidate(s) will be held on Thursday, 26 October 2023, during ICANN78. In preparation of the Q&A session, the written candidate statements will
be posted on the ccNSO website. The Q&A session gives the ccNSO members and broader ccTLD community an opportunity to interact with the candidates.
If at the close of nominations there are no more valid candidates in a particular geographic region than there are seats on the ccNSO Council available for that geographic region, then the nominated candidates shall be selected to serve
on the ccNSO Council. Otherwise, an election shall be held for that geographic region, to select the ccNSO Councillors from among the valid candidates. The first election round (if any), will start Thursday, 9 November 2023 (00:01 UTC) and will close Thursday,
30 November 2023 (23:59 UTC), as per the timeline adopted by the Council.
