Dear ccTLD managers,
The ccNSO Strategic and Operational Planning Committee (SOPC) seeks your comments on its proposed updated Charter (enclosed). To submit feedback, please respond to this email or contact
joke.braeken@icann.org. The deadline for doing so is
Thursday, 11 August 2022 (23:59 UTC).
About the SOPC charter review
During a session at ICANN74 in June, the SOPC reviewed and discussed with the ccTLD community the goal, scope, and method of ccNSO input into ICANN’s Strategic and Operational planning processes. Following a review of the outcomes of the
ICANN74 SOPC consultation, the committee revised its charter, as well as its action plan and preliminary schedule of activities.
As per its revised draft charter, the objective of the Committee is to provide input on the strategic and operational planning processes and related budgetary processes of ICANN and Public Technical Identifiers (PTI) that are relevant from
a ccTLD and/or ccNSO perspective and to coordinate, facilitate, and encourage the involvement of ccTLD Managers in these processes. In fulfilling its objective, the Committee should focus on topics relevant from a ccTLD and/or ccNSO perspective, as well as
those issues that are of high importance to the ICANN community.
Next steps
If by the 11 August deadline no concerns are raised that require further edits, the proposed charter will be sent to ccNSO Council for adoption at its upcoming meeting on Thursday, 18 August.
Thank you.
Best regards,
Joke Braeken
