Dear Joke and All

I've made some suggestions to the guideline in the Google Doc to have consistent terminology and more clarity for the reader.

Best regards,
Alejandra

BACKGROUND

The travel fund committee (Peter Koch, Wafa Dahmani and Jenifer Lopez) used the continuous improvement framework, as previously adopted by Council. See

The current version of the guideline is here.

please find a PDF with track changes enclosed

highlights of the proposed changes:

  • Removed all references to the former OISC
  • Changed “funding” to “support”, in line with ICANN used terminology
  • Added ICANN requirements for funded travelers and reference to the ICANN travel support guideline, which prevails
  • Updated criteria for the selection of supported travelers, separated from requirements
  • In line with other ccNSO guidelines, added the miscellaneous chapter, regarding review etc
  • Removed all references to internal working methods by the committee (assessment methodology)
  • Removed the application template from the annex
  • Overall, tried to be short and concise and improve readability.

Timeline

  • Deadline for comments by Council is Thursday, 5 September – end of day
  • Unless there are comments or concerns by Council, the guideline will be sent to the ccNSO members for their review. Deadline for comments by the ccTLD community is Monday, 16 September – end of day.
  • Unless there are fundamental comments or concerns by the community, the guideline is expected to be adopted by Council at its September meeting (19 September)
