All, I do appreciate that you are all busy but please allow me to implore you to vote in the IDN PDP vote which closes today. There are a few reasons why it is important to vote and why I am bugging you: a) a lot of people have put a lot of hard work and effort over a number of years into getting this PDP finalised, b) the IDN Fast track is held up as a model of how work in ICANN can happen quickly whilst allowing the naturally lengthy and cumbersome PDP to run its course. Failing to pass the policy set out in the full PDP may have the effect of undermining the legitimacy of using a 'fast track' process for some future issue and, c) the PDP is the way we make global policy. It is accepted that in the case of ccs there is a very narrow band of items upon which such policy can or should be made but there has never been any doubt that IDNs fits fairly and squarely within that narrow band. If we cannot legitimise this policy by a vote of the ccNSO we undermine the multi-stakeholder model and the policy development processes that each of us strives to support. Please vote!
