Dear Colleagues, How are you during this difficult time? How are your colleagues and registries doing? Is there anything we (individually, as registries, as the Council, as the ccNSO) do to help? Stay healthy and safe, ]{atrina
Hi Katrina and All Brief timeline: On the 6th of march a Calamity State was declared by the President in the whole country. On the 13th, the first case was confirmed. On the 15th, the president cancelled all educational activities (from kindergarten to Universities), from the 16th of march to the 31st of March. On the 16th, the University where .gt is (and many private schools and other educational establishments) continued classes remotely, through the Blue Jeans platform. We have never taught fully virtually, so it has been an adventure *;)* In my case ICANN calls trained me for the virtual environment and my students moved seamlessly to the new way of having class. Not sure how others outside the computer science department are doing, though... On the 17th, almost all of the University employees started working from home (full .gt staff included). That night the President requested that only essential industries where allowed to work & those who could comply with the sanitary measures and transportation for their employees. Everyone else should stay home. Public transportation was cancelled. On the 20th, only essential industries where allowed to work & specific private industries. On the 21st, the President declared 8 days of curfew from 4pm to 4am. So far we have 18 confirmed cases in the country and 1 deceased. In general, we are good. Work continues as usual (though from home) but we were used to this before it was mandatory, so not to much of a surprise there. Grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurant deliveries, medical and veterinary services continue to work, so we are covered and stocked. Many people now are facing double or triple load of work, like my sister for example, she has a 5 years old boy who receives a generous load of weekly homework that she has to do with him, while she and her husband are also working full time from home for a bank, plus preparing meals, cleaning the house, etc. As a precaution, my mom is not receiving any visitors. She is 62, but recently got out of surgery and we don't know how her immune system has recovered. She is doing well, though not having too much fun to be by herself all day (she used to babysit my nephew in the afternoons). Hope you are all well and wish you the best in these difficult times. Dear Katrina and all, The .pr registry is working remotely; in other words, we are working from our respective homes. Currently, we have been able to maintain our usual daily activities. This the second week that we are working from our homes. The Government of Puerto Rico mandated a lockdown and a curfew from 9:00 PM - 5:00 AM. The public is allowed in the street only to visit the doctor, the hospital, the pharmacy, or the supermarket; outside of those activities people can be fine $5,000 USD or 6 months in jail. Thus far, we have 23 confirmed cases of Corona virus. I’d like to take this opportunity to exhort everyone to protect yourselves by staying at home and avoiding risky situations. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Best regards, Pablo Rodriguez On Mon, Mar 23, 2020 at 3:20 AM Katrina Sataki <katrina@nic.lv> wrote:

Dear Katrina, So far so good, Although the Coronavirus outbreak seems no sign to stop, in Taiwan, we still keep 5 days working days and wear the mask when we are taking MRT. As for the Registry business, I think the virus will not have influenced on domain name's industry because of all of the registration services which will be done online. Of course, we still take some measures to contain the spread of the virus such as we will adopt "Zoom" to have meetings with Registrars if needed and we try to work from home one day during next week to test our systems are well prepared for a long-term challenge. Dear all, Katrina thanks for this. in NZ we enter a full lock down for four weeks from midnight Wednesday, there are a couple of cases of community transmission now so they want to lock down early. This means there are no in person business meetings, also no restaurants, pubs etc. We are an essential service and so we could still be using our offices, but we have moved the whole team (around 50) to working from home. We did a full three day trial of that two weeks ago. Almost everything is online and so people are going to be working from home for the period of self-isolation, keeping in touch through Slack and through our video conferencing. Happy to deal with any questions if there are any. Stay in touch peeps! Jordan On Tue, 24 Mar 2020 at 14:38, aclu <aclu@twnic.net.tw> wrote:
