Amended ICANN Bylaws are now effective
Dear All, On 2 June 2022, the most recent version of the ICANN Bylaws was published. Consequently, amendments to Article 10<https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/bylaws-2022-06-02-en#article10>, on the Country Code Names Supporting Organization (ccNSO), and Annex B<https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/bylaws-2022-06-02-en#annexB>, on the ccNSO Policy Development Process, became effective. The amendments were needed to enable interested Internationalised Domain Name (IDN) country code top-level domain (ccTLD) Managers to become members of the ccNSO. Highlights of the amended Bylaws: * Adjustment of membership qualifications (section 10.4 (a)) * Designation of Representative and Emissary (section 10.4 (e)) * Details on the role of the Representative and Emissary respectively (Section 10.4 and Annex B) This amendment of the ICANN Bylaws concludes a process that started in 2007 with the second ccNSO Policy Development Process. Among others, ccPDP2 was tasked with proposing changes the ccNSO-related parts of the ICANN Bylaws to allow inclusion of IDN ccTLD Managers in the ccNSO. This announcement will be posted on the ccNSO website. The impact of the bylaw changes on the existing ccNSO rules and operating procedures will be one of the topics on the agenda of the ICANN74 ccNSO Governance Session<https://74.schedule.icann.org/meetings/DHmg9WTMj8bw5W7DW>, held on Wednesday, 15 June 2022, starting at 08:30 UTC.
