Re: [ccTLDcommunity] the ccNSO Council elected a new leadership team
Dear ccTLD managers (ccNSO members and non-members)! Dear Councillors! Thank you very much for putting your trust in me! I am proud to work with so many people who are involved in and care about our community. I know it’s a challenge (to say the least) to lead the ccNSO Council and to follow the example so perfectly set by Chris, Lesley and Byron. But I am sure that together with my colleagues from the ccNSO Council we will continue to facilitate the ccTLD dialogue and advocate the ccTLD interests within the broader ICANN community. That is our duty, our mission. During the past few weeks I’ve heard words of support from so many of you! I cannot thank you enough for your advice and encouragement. Thank you! And now - back to work! :-) Sincerely, ]{atrina -- € From: <cctldcommunity-bounces@cctld-managers.org> on behalf of Joke Braeken <joke.braeken@icann.org> Date: Thursday 10 March 2016 15:18 To: "ccnso-council@icann.org" <ccnso-council@icann.org>, "ccnso-members@icann.org" <ccnso-members@icann.org>, "ccTLDcommunity@cctld-managers.org" <ccTLDcommunity@cctld-managers.org> Subject: [ccTLDcommunity] the ccNSO Council elected a new leadership team Dear All, Yesterday, the ccNSO Council elected a new leadership team. Byron Holland (.ca) stepped down as chair of the ccNSO Council, and his successor Katrina Sataki (.lv) was elected, together with two vice-chairs : the former ccNSO Chair Byron Holland (.ca) and Demi Getschko (.br). Also, two long-standing members of the community left the Council - Vice-Chair Keith Davidson (.nz), and former chair Lesley Cowley, OBE. Their seats were taken by Debbie Monahan (.nz) and Peter Vergote (.be). The ccNSO wholeheartedly thanks Lesley and Keith for their guidance, commitment and tireless work for the ccTLD and ICANN community and wishes the incoming councillors lots of energy and enthusiasm in their new roles! Under Byron’s tenure as the Chair of the ccNSO Council, the ccNSO worked on a number of important initiatives, including the Framework of Interpretation, the IANA Stewardship Transition and the ICANN Accountability processes. Byron is being recognised for his leadership across the entire ICANN Community, and the ccNSO is proud to continue having him on board as ccNSO Council vice-chair. The ccNSO Council has 18 Councillors, 15 appointed by the ccNSO membership and 3 by the NomCom. To date, 157 ccTLD managers are member of the ccNSO.
