ICANN is rich in its cultural diversity and global reach. Developing cultural intelligence at ICANN is a learning experience focused on improving cultural knowledge and awareness. We will examine our behaviors and beliefs and how they impact our awareness and interaction when working with people from different cultures. This program will explore the dual dimensions of culture. The Intercultural Awareness program will include interaction, discussion, and activity about similarities and difference around the world and around the room. Additionally, we will consider specific cultural challenges ICANN faces and how to best overcome them. Why Participate The topic of culture has come up repeatedly during the ICANN Academy Leadership Program. The request was made to address this in a separate program. Who Should Attend Ideally participants will have attended the ICANN Academy Leadership Program. However, any interested community members are welcome to participate. Who is Designing the Intercultural Awareness Program Like ICANN's Academy Learning Program, developing cultural intelligence will be designed by the ICANN Academy Working Group members in partnership with Incite Learning, Inc., a professional development firm. Incite Learning, Inc. has been working with ICANN for several years. A team will be created to solicit and provide input on program content and structure. Number of Participants 15-30 people.
