Election Results: ccNSO Council 2025 – Asia/Australia/Pacific Region https://ccnso.icann.org/en/about/elections/council.htm Voting for the position of one (1) ccNSO Council member representing the Asia/Australia/Pacific region closed on Wednesday, 18 December 2024, at 23:59 UTC. This announcement shares the election results. Thanks to all who participated. Election Results Two candidates were nominated, seconded, and accepted their nominations in accordance with the established rules and timeline. An election was therefore conducted among ccNSO members from the region. Voting Outcome: * Total votes cast: 32 Emissaries (57 % turnout) * Jordan Carter: 24 votes * Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy: 8 votes The quorum was successfully met, and the candidate with the majority of votes cast, Jordan Carter, has been elected. Voting Eligibility and Process Only ccNSO members from the Asia/Australia/Pacific region, through their designated Emissaries, are eligible to vote for candidates representing their region on the ccNSO Council. At the time of ballot distribution, there were 57 members from the Asia/Australia/Pacific region, corresponding to 56 Territories and 56 Emissaries. Each Emissary received one (1) unique ballot. Per the relevant guidelines: A quorum is achieved when a majority of all eligible Emissaries in the region cast votes. The elected candidate must receive the majority of votes cast, with the winner determined by a plurality of votes. Next Steps The Election Report, prepared by the Election Process Manager, will be submitted to the ccNSO Council for review and approval. The appointed Council member will take office at the conclusion of the ICANN82 Community Forum in March 2025. The Chair of the ccNSO Council will notify the ICANN Secretary of the election outcome. Background * The ccNSO Council consists of 18 Councillors, representing 5 ICANN geographical regions.
