This is a very specific, timely and interesting question. Personally, I believe a more comprehensive and IETF-like intellectual property policy (more than patents) is need in ICANN. In addition to patent disclosure in due course, there should be other policies on patentees' obligations to ensure royalty-free or RAND licesning to affected community members. Hong
