Personal note from Sloba
Dear all, as you know, my term as a NomCom nominee to the ccNSO Council ends at the conclusion of the ongoing meeting in Cairo. I want to congratulate ccNSO members and the Council for all good work that was initiated and completed over the past few years (especially the work on many complex IDN-related issues and work on internal strengthening of the ccNSO, so it can better support the interests of ccTLD managers within the ICANN structure). I very much enjoyed contributing to the work of the Council and enjoyed even more the company of friendly ccTLD family members. I would also like to let you know that I have been recently appointed by the new Serbian Minister for Telecommunications and Information Society as her Special Advisor. Despite the title, my position is not specialized, so I advise the Minister on a broad range of policies, from liberalization of the telecommunications market to development of the information society in Serbia. I have been also delegated the responsibility of dealing with the domain name issues, so apart from interfacing with the local community (.rs registry, subdelegated .ac.rs and .gov.rs administrators etc), I expect to be appointed as Serbian representative to the GAC after the Cairo meeting. Given that my previous engagements (in and out of ICANN) were dominantly related to ccTLD issues, I will be very happy to continue helping the work of ccNSO in any appropriate way :-) Best regards, Sloba
