Janis, Attached please find the Issues Report on the PDP for IDN ccTLDs. I confirm that in accordance with the recommendations if the report, the ccNSO has resolved to launch the PDP. As the PDP will be conducted without the use of a task force, clause 8 Annex B of the ICANN bylaws applies (http://www.icann.org/en/general/bylaws.htm#AnnexB). In accordance with sub-clause C thereof, please take this email as a formal request to you as Chair of the GAC to offer opinion and/or advice in respect to the PDP. Further, you will note that the Issues Report recommends the formation of 2 Working Groups (see Issues Report section 4 Methodology and Annex B Charter Working Group 1). WG 1 is in the process of being formed and in accordance with its Charter I request that the GAC nominate 2 members to the WG. I appreciate tat this may be difficult for the GAC given its way of working and look forward to discussing an acceptable method of ensuring GAC participation in the WG.
