Special Council election in EU region - DECISION
Dear Colleagues, Thank you for expressing your preferences regarding the way forward with respect to Special Council elections in the European region. All Councillors submitted their votes. Ironically, it turned out that 8 Councillors supported Option 1 and 8 Councillors supported Option 2. One Councillor abstained. With this quite unusual diversity of views, I had to decide how to proceed. Taking into account that three Councillors submitted their votes AFTER the deadline of 9 May 23.59 UTC, I removed their votes from the final score. With that, we have 7 Councillors in favour of Option 1 and 6 in favour of Option 2. It means that we go forward with Option 1, i.e.: 1) Nomination Manager (Joke): please, issue the call for nominations on 22 May. 2) Meeting Programme Working Group (Alejandra): please, schedule time for Q&As in Panama. 3) Councillors (especially those who supported Option 1): please, be around to review and approve the final report.
