Call for volunteers for the OAccountability and Transparency¹ review Panel
Dear all, The deadline to send in an application to serve on the review panel on 'Accountability and Transparancy" has been extended to February 22nd 2010, midnight UTC ( see: http://www.icann.org/en/announcements/announcement-03feb10-en.htm) If you are interested to serve on the review panel, you are requested to apply by submitting: * a short CV (maximum three pages); * a one-page motivation letter, and * include a note that your candidature is submitted in representation of the ccNSO. Please note that the workload is currently estimated to be 15-20 working days during the time the review is conducted, your CV and motivation letter will be published. Please also note that the number of review panelist per SO and AC is not settled yet. It could be one or more per SO and AC. An application should be submitted to the following email address: rtcandidatures@icann.org. As you may have noted candidates who want to serve on the review panel should be representing the ccNSO. In order to meet the deadlines the following process has been agreed: * Closure of submissions, 22 February 2010, midnight UTC. * All submissions received by with indication representing ccNSO will be forwarded to ccNSO Council on 23 February. * The ccNSO Council will endorse all those candidates who in its opinion represent the ccNSO. * By the 1st March AT THE VERY LATEST the ccNSO Council will send an email to rtcandidatures@icann.org listing the names of those applicants that are sponsored / supported by ccNSO. Kind regards, Bart Background: The Affirmation of Commitments calls for a periodic review of four key ICANN objectives, namely: 1. Ensuring accountability, transparency and the interests of global Internet users; 2. Preserving security, stability and resiliency of the DNS; 3. Promoting competition, consumer trust and consumer choice; 4. Whois policy. The reviews will be performed by review teams composed of volunteer community members representing the relevant Supporting Organizations and Advisory Committees of ICANN.
