TLD-OPS Standing Committee Summary from 14 Jan
Dear all, The TLD-OPS Standing Committee held their first telephone conference on 14 January. Please find below, the meeting summary. Kind regards, Kim Carlson Summary TLD-OPS Conference Call #1 The TLD-OPS Standing Committee held its first conference call on Thu Jan 14, 2016. We discussed the following topics: (1) TLD-OPS status. We subscribed three new ccTLDs to the list (Egypt, Algeria, and Barbados) since ICANN54, bringing the number of TLD-OPS members to a total of 170 (142 ASCII, 28 IDNs). We'll be working with the ICANN regional VPs to get more ccTLDs on the list. The current list of subscribers is on the TLD-OPS homepage. (2) TLD-OPS leaflet. We approved the new TLD-OPS leaflet, which provides more information on the added value for ccTLD operators and the way TLD-OPS is being governed. The update is based on the feedback we received from the ICANN regional VPs back at ICANN54 in Dublin. Download the leaflet from the TLD-OPS homepage. (3) Committee members. We welcomed two new member to the TLD-OPS Standing Committee: Ali Hadji Mmadi (.km, Comoros) and Warren Kumari (SSAC Liaison). We continue have a vacancy for a ccTLD representative from the Asia Pacific region. (4) TLD-OPS future directions. We discussed two strategic topics: (i) how to stimulate list members to share security alerts through the TLD-OPS list so that it will used more often, and (ii) if and how it would be beneficial to open up TLD-OPS for gTLDs. We agreed to organize our thoughts on these matters and discuss them with the community in Marrakech. Our next meeting will be a conference call mid February.
