Dear Chris Dispain,

The Norwegian Research Centre for Computers and Law (NRCCL), attached to the University of Oslo, has been working on a report looking into certain legal issues related to the WHOIS service and use of WHOIS databases. The work has been sponsored by UNINETT Norid AS -- the organisation responsible for operating the .no TLD. The chief result of that work takes the form of a report authored by Dana Cojocarasu, a researcher with the NRCCL. The report is now completely finished though not yet published. It will be published in the NRCCL's CompLex series at the end of May. In the meantime, we thought it might be useful to send you, as chair of the ccNSO, an electronic version of the report in advance of publication, for internal use in the ccNSO.
