Initiation of a PDP on the Translation and Transliteration of Contact Information With reference to the "Final Issue Report Translation and Transliteration of Contact Information" ("http://gnso.icann.org/en/issues/gtlds/transliteration-contact-final-21ma r13-en.pdf"), the GNSO is initiating a PDP on the issues defined in this report and creating a working group. At the same time, the GNSO is requesting staff to commission a study on the commercial feasibility of translation or transliteration systems for internationalized contact data. ccNSO may consider sending members to join the WG since IDN ccTLDs may have some experiences in this topic.

Policy vs Implementation The chairman of the GNSO Council is reaching out to other SOs/ACs to determine the level of interest in joining the GNSO in a community-wide working group to discuss and develop a position on the issues.
