Dear SO-AC Leaders,
Recognizing we have heard quite a bit of concern from the community regarding travel visas in recent meetings, and there seems to be an uptick about this particular meeting, we did analysis and produced this summary report for the community that provides summary level data re: funded travelers visa status, and also articulates the process and dependencies to enable visa applications. As always, ICANN cannot guarantee any group or individuals visa, and it is countries who set their own rules about who are allowed to enter their countries. In the report you will find that very few funded travelers were unable to secure visa’s for Dublin.
We hope this report can help you be better informed as this issue may come up in your community discussions. We also intend to publish this report and similar information on ongoing basis for future meetings, which will enable you to point your community members to those process summaries and the relevant data.
This is another report we would be happy to discuss as a follow up item to ICANN84. Apologies for adding to your plate at this time right before the meeting, but we thought better to share the info than hold it.
Thanks,
Russ
