As discussed at the ccNSO cocktail reception, here is some feedback regarding Saturday’s training session.

I found the day very interesting for the following reasons:

• The trainer, David Plumb, is a great teacher, attentive to the group, and thoroughly knowledgeable about his subject. He is able to respond to questions by providing concrete examples.
• The training materials are quite comprehensive: they cover all the essential points. Participants leave with resources to explore further if they wish.
• The day’s schedule is well-structured: it includes both learning sessions and many practical, scenario-based exercises.

The group was quite diverse, allowing for discussions on a wide range of situations based on the members of each group. The discussions were therefore rich and covered many different scenarios.

Of course, some people are more comfortable with simulation exercises than others. Surprisingly, those for whom English is not a native language were more willing to participate in the role-playing exercises.

For my part, even though I’ve been taking this type of training for years, it was a real opportunity to better understand how things work in other working groups.

In summary, I recommend this training to others.
