Results 2nd Council workshop ccNSO council did a workshop in Istanbul on increasing capacity. A second virtual workshop was held on 23 Feb. One of the major actions from the workshop: onboarding, and mentoring. The workshop had a similar approach as your previous meeting: what would you like to improve? How to do so? Rich materials, but also pessimistic observations. Clear role for OMC Bart aims to share the outcomes of the workshop to the council leadership team and council, but also with OMC. Meeting last Friday, for Caribbean ccTLDs. 2 interesting things: * Diversity slides * Basic data around ccTLDs in the Caribbean ⅓ are government-related, 9 academia, 11 private entities. Interesting region from a governance perspective Use of back-end providers. It impacts their role as ccTLD managers. Illustration of diversity. 18 of the 30 are members of the ccNSO. 12 are members of LACTLD. From an icann perspective, the Caribbean ccTLDs are spread over 3 icann regions. Vary diverse, in various aspects What prevents ccTLDs from participating? Answers might be inspiring for the onboarding program. Jenifer: recognise the different challenges for the regional approaches. Regional outreach more tailored to the needs. We should communicate the added value of ccnso participation. Testimonials from participants are useful. Who are we? What is the benefit? Good to have common sessions with fellows: speak about the value of ccNSO. To invite those who do not participate yet to become involved Wafa: The result of the question is good. Local awareness is mentioned. Finance is a barrier. You can participate online. But the challenges are the timezones and the poor internet connection. Bart: you cannot address anything, but relevant in the onboarding process. Bart: We can share the pdf with the outcome with you. See if the effort would increase the voting of the carib ccTLDs in the upcoming board vote. That is easy to measure. 3. Review outcome 20 January meeting (clustering and activities) Page 2 On the 20th, OMC revisited the outcomes. Main clusters Are the outcomes of the discussions from the last meeting captured in this overview? Sami, Wafa and Jenifer agree Wafa: I remember that Abdalmonem last time mentioned sth about liaisons. It is captured here. 4. Impact/Effort analysis of the proposed actions: setting priorities (Mentimeter) [cid:image001.png@01DB765E.C5062800] Biyi: depends on what you want to achieve. Time effort etc Driving: cannot join menti. [cid:image002.png@01DB765E.C5062800] [cid:image003.png@01DB765E.C5062800] Bart: interesting results. All high impact and high effort. Sami: lots of efforts required to find the good materials for the onboarding. It will have an impact. Improving the ccnso info: same. Improving the onboarding improves the ccnso info. We need to find the right people to do so. Recognition: does not need a lot of effort, but will have impact. Developing use case: showcase Jenifer: once done, easier to maintain. Organising info and making it available across multiple platforms. Once in place, easy to maintain Sami: agree with Jenifer’s explanation. Bart: when looking at the various actions, where would you like to start? What should the ccnso do first? Jenifer: improve clarity about info regarding the ccnso, and the benefits for participating, and ccnso onboarding. Wafa: why do we use this method? We should have classified them and had a different outcome Point 1 and 2: preference to start 5. Review newcomer onboarding slides<https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1LFh-_nbgeozSjTdaE9vZ2BsGgw4_5As3/edi...> Joke runs through the content of the slides Bart: please review the slide deck as homework. We will revisit at the next meeting. There is a lot of information. What do you want to communicate to these newcomers? This a lot to digest Wafa: how to provide comments? Bart: write down your comments in an email and send to OMC mailing list. Sami: for fellow if we can share success from fellow to ccnso 6. Next meeting: 19 February 2025 7. AOB 8.
