Dear PGA WG members,

 

Thank you very much for attending the first PGA WG meeting last week, and for responding to the call for nominations for one (1) PGA WG Chair and one (1) PGA WG Vice Chair. The deadline for the call for nominations is Friday, 6 September, COB.

 

Nominations – secondments – acceptance nominations

Jordan Carter (.au) was nominated as Chair to the PGA by several members. Jordan accepted his nomination on the mailing list. Maria Camila Rojas (.co) was nominated as Vice Chair. Maria has not yet accepted her nomination.

 

About the roles

The Chair will manage ongoing activities and ensure an appropriate working environment by:

• Promptly sharing relevant information with the entire Committee;
• Planning the work of the Committee in order to achieve its goals and lead the Committee through its discussions;
• Regularly assessing and reporting on progress towards the goals of the Committee;
• Keeping track of participation

The Chair will provide leadership to the PGA WG, as well as convening and chairing PGA WG meetings.  The Chair ensures a proper communication flow between the PGA WG, the ccNSO Council and the ccTLD community regarding matters within scope of the PGA WG. The key role of the Vice Chair is to work with the Chair and ccNSO staff in facilitation, coordination and communication – ensuring that committee members are actively engaged in the achievement of the PGA WG work.

Welcome to the ccNSO Policy Gap Analysis working group!

Below is the list of subscribers to the list. Chris and Nick will be added in the near future.

 

Per Council decision Jordan Carter (.au) has been appointed as the interim chair. One of the first tasks of the group will be  to nominate its chair and a vice-chair. After nomination they will be appointed by the ccNSO Council

 

As some of you are also involved in drafting the responses to the  questions on the review mechanism, the first meeting of this group is anticipated by the end of August. Early next week ( 29 July – 2 August) Claudia will send out a Doodle poll for the first meeting.

 

Given the time zone diversity of the group ( ranging from Los Angeles, UTC-7 to Melbourne, UTC + 10 ), to share the burden,  the group may reconsider to do calls on a rotational basis, to be decided on the first call. Also considering that the group is expected to present during ICANN81, we suggest that the group meets every other week.

 

Well before the first meeting, we will share material that has been considered by the Ad-Hoc Council group. The material will also be posted on the wiki-space of the group (under construction, but see: https://community.icann.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=356024378 )
