Dear All,
After careful consideration, the new gTLD Auction Proceeds CCWG Co-Chairs have decided to CANCEL the community outreach session that was originally scheduled for THURSDAY 15 MARCH from 8.30 – 10.15. As discussed
during our previous meeting, there are no issues or questions that require community input at this stage and as such, it would be better use of community time if an update would be provided in the form of a newsletter shortly after ICANN61 and plan for a community
outreach session at ICANN62 instead. As you know, the option was also considered to transform this session into a F2F meeting but noting the lack of availability of external experts for that session and limited time to prepare a review of responses that may
have been received by that time, it was deemed better to focus the CCWG’s energy on the Sunday session instead.
Please remember that the next meeting of the new gTLD Auction Proceeds CCWG is scheduled to take place on Sunday 11 March from 17.00 – 18.30 local time (21.00 – 22.30 UTC, see
https://61.schedule.icann.org/meetings/647691). Remote participation details can be found here:
https://community.icann.org/x/3wC8B.
Note that to date, two responses from external experts have been received (Jose Manuel Alonso from the Web Foundation and Sarah Berg from Ponsonby Partners), with a couple of others indicating that responses
are forthcoming. For those of you that have direct contacts with the external experts that have been identified, please reach out to them and encourage them to provide their input. Staff will also be sending a follow up message. Staff will create a wiki page
where all the responses provided will be posted as well as create an excel table to facilitate your review of the different responses.
Best regards,
Marika
