Hi Rick – the Final Report specifies the general purposes for use of the funds and provides examples. Please note that the Board asked and the CCWG agreed that the funds may NOT be used for regular line items in ICANN’s budget. The funds were never intended as operating funds and were not described as such in the 2012 Applicant Guidebook relative to auctions of last resort to resolve string contention. It may be helpful to take a look at the examples provided by the CCWG in the Final Report.
