To whom it may concern, I have just been made aware of the agreement "According to this new agreement, Verisign will be allowed to increase the wholesale price to registrars for .COM domains every year for 8 out of the next 10 years, and the increases don’t stop there." that was done behind closed doors. This is really not fair to the .com community that no one has been able to say anything on this agreement. Things are already difficult enough just trying to survive the internet frenzy, trying to make things work. The internet was in the beginning supposed to be accessible to everyone. It is going to become un-affordable for the small business to be online anymore. It's always the big guy try to kill the small guy. What are you trying to do take us out of business. Please reconsider your actions so we can have a little piece of the pie also. Thank you for your time and consideration on this matter. Regard's Michel

I have owned several .com domain names for over 20 years now, so I am angered and perplexed that ICANN and Verisign have colluded to increase prices without any community input or third party oversight. I strongly urge you to reconsider this decision, which reflects poorly on both organizations and undermines their credibility. Thank you for your consideration.

I oppose any changes to the .COM registry agreement that will lead to unneeded price increases. I especially oppose the negotiation of such agreements behind closed doors, and without the input of the community around ICANN and the registrars. ICANN needs to begin a community-led process to recommend any changes to such agreements. --rt

What ICANN and Verisign have done is outrageous - a No-Bid Contract to apply additional fees as they see fit. ICANN is supposed to be a Government structured and monitored body, while Verisign is a 100% for profit corporation which has made Billions, each and every year over the past three decades. They are now both enriching themselves by manipulating a sheer monopoly which should fall foul of many laws and governmental oversight. Does this behind-the-curtain deal smell even slightly untainted to anyone??? Every level of the internet - from registrars to owner/users will be adversely affected by this exclusive arrangement and none of us should allow ourselves to be fleeced in this manner. Domain charges are already higher than they should be. Fees have increased over the years and we accepted it just because "it must have been justified." No more. Bring out the Guillotine.
