Hi there, I’m strongly opposing every .com price increases, for which, obviously ICANN IS “in favor”. These planed price increases will may be easily handled by big companies, but are not welcomed from thousands, if not millions single individuals. Any action, which could drive prices up further, ultimately making .COM domains less accessible and more expensive for everybody. As a registrant of a .com domain name (and having been a representative assisting many others to register their own .com domains), I am against the radically proposed price increase(s) to .COM domains. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest as a not-for-profit partnership of and for people from all over the world. Please do that. Kory Pomykal

I wrote against privatizing the registry when it originally went to verisign. If you keep raising prices, expect the decentralized blockchain people to replace /obsolete your silly organization(s) .

I've received some troubling news about changes to .com wholesale domain pricing. There appears to be very little clarity, and closed-door dealmaking going on, that privileges one company's profit-making. In fact, from my perspective this looks like rent-seeking behaviour that may merit antitrust action; de facto monopolies need to be regulated for consumer protection. If there is a perceived need to increase pricing in order to maintain or expand domain name infrastructure, or to institute protections against domain hijacking or fake-site spoofing etc, it has not been communicated transparently, neither to domain resellers nor to the general public.If we are to be charged more per year, then there must be a concomitant increase in value delivered or an explanation of the costs involved. I look forward to seeing a full, transparent accounting of this proposed price increase, where the money will be spent, and what measures ICANN / Verisign will put in place to ensure that .com domain names remain accessibly priced - perhaps ensuring that individuals and small businesses with income below a certain threshold will not pay more than a set maximum fee (say, $150/year), while charging more to individuals and companies who can easily afford it. I do not believe that this agreement should move forward. Verisign is already a monopoly on .COM domain registrations and should no be given authority to expand that chokehold further. BK
