I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Based on the information given, this is already providing a 200 - 300% profit to Verisign. That should be sufficient. James MorrowBrooksville, Florida United States

Small businesses like mine rely on .com sites to gain authority in a market with big businesses and can't afford major prices. Especially when there was no period to discuss or work to better arrangements with the community at large.

I am writing to protest the changes to ICANN's contract with Verisign, Inc. It's my understanding that, along with a significant increase ($20 million over five years) in payment from Verisign to ICANN, the contract allows ongoing increases to the wholesale price for .COM domains. It's also my understanding that the payment increase comes without any restrictions or guidelines for how the money will be used by ICANN. As a small business owner relying on my website domain, I vehemently protest this agreement. It will unfairly penalize small businesses who are often operating on a tight budget and need their websites in order to stay afloat - and who will take the biggest hit, proportionate to their revenue and budget, to these price increases. I believe in an accessible web experience. Please don't implement price increases. These increase would make utilizing domains difficult for more people making the web a less interesting place. Thank you.

I am writing to voice my opposition to ICANN's proposed amendment 3 to the .COM registry agreement. As currently proposed the amendment is likely to force a raise in the costs of registration of .com addresses. As someone who has a small business which first registered its domain close to 20 years ago I have seen continued increases over this time but the current proposal is likely to raise costs more than in all that time combined.
