I am an artist that has opened my residence as a ‘free to the public’ gallery. I cannot afford price increases to secure my domain name. Most small businesses can’t. You are turning this into a pay-to-play situation where the little shops won’t be able to maintain their information accessibility. This is wrong on so many levels. To Whom This Concerns, The proposed price increase and continued yearly increase is wholly unjustified. There are not the requirements of increased management, thereby increasing costs, to oversee this particular level of domain names. The (dot) coms are no more difficult to "manage" than any other domain name. Management falls upon the registrants and registrars. The cost increases are being proposed as a way to turn the most commonly used, most desirable, and most recognizable domain into a "cash cow". The proposal takes full advantage of forcing registrants to pay more and more at the cost of losing aspects of their business(es) and eliminating access to highly valuable resources. The proposed increase is unconscionable, unprecedented, and unnecessary. Thank you for your time.

The monopolization of .com domains is unacceptable and all TLD should not be able to operate a domain name registrar and also NOT be able to control and raise the prices .COM at the same time. The additional money that ICANN receives from Verisign with no transparency in terms of spending plans is also shady and questionable. Please leave the prices alone for .COM domains to ensure that creating an online presence is accessible for all who wish to have a .COM domain name.

The internet should be treated as a public utility, not a private monopoly. Private companies should not be given this kind of control. Private companies should not be able to buy their way into closed-room deals that affect the entire world, such as in the case. Do the right thing for the majority, not the minority, please. Dear ICAAN, I will like to express my opposition to the agreement that will lead to an increase in the prizes of .COM domains. It is unfair that other providers were not carried along before this unilateral decision was made. Please, do shelve this new agreement so that dotcom domains will remain cheap and affordable.
