Not right to increase prices for just getting $20M USD. Instead a solution would be to seek funding from host providers and charge royalties over forever rather than sell priveledges for a short 5 years. Short term focus with problems for the future for your organization Sent from my iPhone

As a working student, fire volunteer, and local web developer, increasing the prices of domain names is another way for companies to ruin the opportunities for hard working individuals. I own 3 domains, both for personal and professional reasons. While owning these domains is relatively inexpensive, the increase in price will affect my yearly expenses. I hope you can understand that raising domain prices is completely and utterly wrong to do to hard working citizens. Thank You

I am wholeheartedly against removing price caps on .com domains and feel this will harm small businesses and individuals across the globe that rely on an online presence. These price increases only put more cost pressure on small business and families that have a family domain. I am strongly against increasing prices so sharply and quickly. Hi, I am writing in opposition to the proposed Verisign deal with respect to .com domains. I believe the current arrangement should be kept and strict price controls from ICANN should be preserved for .com domains. Verisign has no business exerting control or influence over ICANN, and the deal as proposed will be bad for consumers and anyone who holds a .com domain. .com domains are the homes for many websites. By raising the price for them, websites will move away to newer domain extensions. This will make the internet suffer as a whole. With websites moving around it will be harder to find them.

I run an independent business and I hold several domains with NameCheap. This change would have a significant impact on my ability to retain some of these domains. Hello, This contract leaves open the door for significant increases in the cost of .COM domain ownership, something that is already prohibitive. If Verisign is willing to pay $20 million to be able to increase their prices, I can’t even imagine how much profit they’re projecting. This is clearly an attempt to increase profit margins from a service that is wholly monopolized and should be publicly funded and owned. Public funds researched, developed, and built the internet as we know it. This is an anti-competitive decision that undermines the accessibility to and affordability of the internet. Please do not hijack it further in order to make even more money for yourselves. Justin
