I am a registrant of several .com domain names. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. The current rate of $7.85 is already a fair price. The proposed changes seem to be mostly about increasing the profit of current shareholders of Verisign rather than adding value to users. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. Please protect the public interest. -Dan Carlson

As a registrant of many domains and a person who aids people in registering their own domains, this change is detrimental to consumers as it means an increased spike in .com domain names (which have traditionally been the cheaper alternatives) matching similar to that of more "premium" TLDs. It not only de-values some of the more personalized TLDs such as .NAME, .IS etc, but it would allow for the over-inflation of the value of .COM domains. Dear sir/mam, the cost of registration for .com domain is already pretty expensive. Kindly do not increase the prices further. I own several hundred domains and it will end up costing me thousands of additional dollars if you make this price increase Regards Monty Sent from my iPhone

I vehemently oppose any price increases on .com domains. There is no good reason for the price increase. If anything as technology is adopted, the price for such resources should go down, not increase. Thank you, M. Malafarina

I understand that there is less and less .com available but this is freedom of speech we are talking about. By increasing the price of .com domain you are blocking a good portion of humanity to access their freedom of speech. By doing this you are not only reducing the odds that the actual internet will stay the same. But also increasing the chances that alternative start. Such as Blockchain projects and unstoppable blochain domain. I support freedom of speech and a free accessible internet. Will

This amendment is bad for the future health of the internet. Keeping the prices of .coms without allowing continued increases will continue to keep access to the internet available to more people of the world. This is imperative to the continued healthy growth of the internet. Restricting .coms to only people who can afford the growing cost will negatively effect the future of the open internet. Cory

Greetings, This is a very risky amendment. There is no clear public value demonstrated within it, and any price increase to the most prominent and sought after TLD (.com) risks alienating global participation in the growing digital services industry. This is especially true for developing countries where the majority of it’s population falls beneath the global poverty line. Price increases may also inadvertently invite more government involvement and regulation on both ends of the political spectrum. If this goes through, there are far more implications than what is bundled in the amendment. This has a global impact. I would anticipate press coverage, followed by opportunists weighing in on the optics of it, not the substance of it. Thanks, David Waggoner
